Rischen Studios is a globally operating film production company, founded by visual artist and filmmaker Jasper Rischen in New York City.
ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Jasper started filming the world around him as a teenager in the countryside of The Netherlands, turning DV tapes into short movies in his bedroom. After moving to New York in 2010, he worked in bars and started taking photographs.
In 2015, he graduated top of his class at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, specializing in Documentary Film. He won a Pulitzer Prize Fellowship awarded to top students, a DuPont/ Judy F. Crichton Award for Best Film, along with the Henry N. Taylor Award for Best Foreign Student. He sold his student film to American national television right out of school. He has lived and worked in Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam, and New York City.
A RICH EXPERIENCE
Prior to founding Rischen Studios, Jasper Rischen has almost a decade of high level experience in the film industry. He co-directed, produced, filmed and edited a feature documentary film for PBS, shot in the Navajo Nation. He created a short film for Nowness as well as a 21-episode doc series with stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race. He has photographed or filmed with talent ranging from Lady Gaga, Rihanna, HAIM, Lizzo, Anya Taylor-Joy, Troye Sivan, Lana Del Rey, and Laura Pausini, amongst others. He has collaborated with outlets and brands such as Vogue, Celine, Dior, L’Oreal, MTV, Facebook, Amazon Music, Sony Music, Columbia Records, and Nike.
A NEW PATH
Rischen Studios intends to elevate a new generation of talent to audiences worldwide. We believe that cinema has the potential to bridge gaps, ignite meaningful discussions, and we are passionate about using our film work to contribute to a more conscious and compassionate society.
We have a strong roster of projects in the works that we are excited to unfold over the next months and years. Ultimately, Rischen Studios will exclusively produce its own original content.
